Lucknow: Demonstrating a strong commitment to social service, Inner Wheel Club Lucknow Baradari, in collaboration with King George’s Medical University (KGMU) and Lucknow Golf Club, organised a blood donation camp during the Champions Club event.
Club President Hema Gupta informed that the initiative aimed to strengthen blood supply and promote awareness about voluntary blood donation. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation, especially from the youth.
The blood collection was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Tulika Chandra, Head of the Blood Transfusion Department at KGMU, along with her medical team. Key dignitaries present included Rajneesh Sethi, Secretary of Lucknow Golf Club, Joint Secretary Sudhakar Rastogi, and members such as Sanjeev Gupta.
From Inner Wheel Baradari, prominent members including Vandana Srivastava, Deepa Singhal, Dr. Mitul Rastogi, Tanushree, Radhika Sood, and Anjali Goyal were present to support the initiative.
Out of 26 volunteers who registered, blood could be collected from six donors, as several participants were found to have low haemoglobin levels. Despite this, the event was considered a success in terms of awareness and participation.

Post donation, participants were provided refreshments and certificates as a token of appreciation. The initiative was undertaken to help improve the availability of blood in current times.
As a gesture of gratitude, Inner Wheel members honoured officials of the Golf Club and the KGMU team by presenting saplings. The KGMU team appreciated the club’s efforts and awareness drive, expressing their willingness to collaborate on similar initiatives in the future.
The event highlighted the importance of community participation in healthcare initiatives and reinforced the spirit of collective social responsibility.
